Crazy Money!

Rio Ferdinand is reportedly asking Manchester United to raise his weekly wages from £70,000 (pounds) to at least £100,000.

I wouldn't mind that a month or even a year!

Joke :: Refereeing or Wife?

Refereeing or Wife?

The Referee's wife was in full flight. "If you ever spent a Saturday afternoon with me instead of Refereeing I swear I would drop dead," she screamed.

"There's no point in trying to bribe me," replied the husband.

Keeping faith with Alex Ferguson?

Chelsea dropped 2 points today, so Manchester United thought they would let them off the pressure and drop 3 points themselves. To Norwich of all teams!

Alex Ferguson said, "coming second was very important!"

Looks like that's becoming harder to do with Arsenal keeping up the chase.

I'm glad I'm only a REFEREE! :)

To All Promotion Candidates

Email from Vic Skilton

Every PROMOTION CANDIDATES should by now have received a letter from me confirming your application for promotion.

This letter confirms the details I have already sent to you by e-mail.

This is purposely a Belt & Braces approach, as you would be amazed how many Promotion Candidates complain at a later stage in the season that they have never received any correspondence.

I hope that no one attempts to make such a claim this year

The letters were sent out from the county office on Monday 4 April this week..

LEVEL 6 PROMOTION CANDIDATES

You should have already noted that all of your appointments as a referee should be sent to me on the attached pro forma (Standard Form)

Please make sure you use this form, which is designed to ensure that we all adopt a standardised approach rather than having scraps of paper or e-mail messages.

Your Level 6 In Service Training Seminar will take place at the Epsom Baptist Church Hall on 19 April 2005

Please make sure that you attend and advise me immediately if you are Attending or Not Attending (if you have not already sent notified me).

LEVEL 7 PROMOTION CANDIDATES

You should now know that all of your promotion assessments should be sent to either PHIL SHERLOCK if you are based in Surrey East or BRUCE McLAREN if you are based in Surrey West. Please use the pro forma (Standard Form) to submit your appointments to PHIL or BRUCE.

As for all Promotion Candidates; please make sure you use this form which is designed to ensure that we adopt a standardised approach rather than having scraps of paper or e-mail messages.

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHETHER YOU ARE TO REPORT TO PHIL OR BRUCE – MAKE A TELEPHONE CALL AND FIND OUT NOW.

The first of two Level 7 In Service Training Seminars has already taken place at the Epsom Baptist Church Hall on 22 March 2005.

If you missed the first In Service Training Seminar you have ONE MORE OPPORTUNITY to attend the same venue on 12 September 2005.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PUT THIS DATE IN YOUR DIARY NOW – WE DO NOT WANT YOU TO MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND THIS SEMINAR AND FAIL YOUR PROMOTION.

Good Luck with your promotion

Criminal Records Bureau Checks (CRB)

These are FREE if done by 31st December 2005. Forms need to be completed and taken with appropriate documents to a verifier. Verification can be done at County Office during normal office hours, no appointment necessary, or at a society meeting. Currently, Woking, Guildford, Wimbledon, Redhill, Croydon and Farnham societies have verifiers in their membership.

N.B. the forms have limited pre-printed sections which should not be overwritten.

TIP #1 - Improving Your Performance and Retaining Control

Try to referee the match in the style of how the two teams approach the game. Some contests will need little in the way of interruption and you can let the play flow while others will need to be slowed down by giving free kicks and not playing too much advantage so as to ensure that things do not get out of hand.
